China and the New Chinese Leadership


Update on China

Asia Society Australia will host a CEO Boardroom Breakfast Briefing with Australia’s Ambassador to China, H.E. Ms Frances Adamson.

Ambassador Adamson will provide an update on "China and the New Chinese Leadership." 

Adamson took up her posting as Ambassador in August 2011. She has previously served in Hong Kong and as the Representative of the Australian Commerce and Industry Office in Taiwan.

She has also served in the United Kingdom as Deputy High Commissioner from July 2005 to January 2009. Between January 2009 and December 2010 she was Chief of Staff to Stephen Smith, both as Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Defence. Adamson has worked on China-related matters for 21 years of her 27-year career with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. She speaks Mandarin.

The boardroom breakfast is generously sponsored by Minter Ellison and will be held under the Chatham House Rule.
