Australia-Singapore Relations: Towards an Enduring Partnership

The High Commissioner will speak on Australia-Singapore relations.
Michael Teo Eng Cheng took up his appointment as the High Commissioner of Singapore to Australia in September 2011. His previous posting was High Commissioner to the United Kingdom with concurrent accreditation to Ireland from 2002-2011. From 1996 through 2001, Teo was Ambassador to South Korea with concurrent accreditation to Mongolia (1996-2001) and High Commissioner to New Zealand (1994-1996).
Teo joined the Republic of Singapore Air Force in 1968. He rose from Squadron Commander (1975) to Commander of the RSAF (1985) and was appointed Chief of the Air Force when the designation changed in 1990. He retired from the RSAF in 1992 and joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The boardroom luncheon is generously sponsored by Norton Rose Australia and will be held under the Chatham House Rule.
