Come and join one of the premier trade and investment Forums on ASEAN to be held in Melbourne on Monday, 23 May 2022 at Grand Hyatt Hotel jointly hosted by the ten ASEAN Heads of Mission based in Canberra.
The one-day Australia-ASEAN Business Forum will highlight the opportunities, challenges, and case studies by thirty industry champions on five industry sectors: Advanced Manufacturing, Education, Health & Medical Industries, Digital Transformation and Food & Agriculture.
ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) is the premier regional grouping in Southeast Asia. ASEAN member countries are Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. As a trading bloc, it is Australia’s second largest trading partner, it includes some of the most dynamic economies in the region, and is an important player on the global stage with numerous alliances and partners.
The population of all ASEAN states amount to 660 million. The export into ASEAN nations is set to boom in the next decade. It is time to invest and collaboration with ASEAN.
In 2019-2020, Australia’s trade with ASEAN countries was $113.7 billion, which is greater than our two-ways trade with Japan and United States. Our two-way investment with ASEAN in 2019 was over $259 billion.
