Asia Society Australia would like to invite you to a public forum discussing the pivotal role of Asian-Australians in promoting Australia’s security and prosperity in Asia. 

Australia’s modern multicultural identity is deeply intertwined with its relationship with Asia, a region critical to Australia's future. As part of our Asia in Victoria initiative, the aim of the forum is to highlight the significant contributions of Australia’s Asian communities in strengthening diplomatic, trade, and investment ties with Asia.

The forum has been curated to highlight the success-stories and constructive recommendations on how business, government and others can draw on the Asia literacy that exists in these communities. The panels will spotlight distinguished Asian-Australian leaders from diverse fields.

This session will explore the role that Asian-Australians play in Australian public life – from politics and public policy to the media – and how this contributes to social cohesion and democratic resilience.

Panel: How can Asian-Australians support Australia’s prosperity in Asia?

This panel will discuss the ways that Asian Australian professionals in business are forging new economic connections between Australia and the region and the benefits to Australian companies of having Asia-literate and Asia-connected corporate leaders.

Panel: How can international students help promote Australia’s prosperity in Asia?

This panel discussion will focus on the potential of international students, beyond university life, to help Australian companies deepen their trade and investment ties to Asia.
