Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff, on behalf of the Armed Forces and in recognition of his long-standing and outstanding contributions to the defense, security and stability of the United States. Over the years, he has played a leading role in overseeing the operation of America’s military forces in Asia and military-to-military relationships in the region as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
International Business Honoree
Dan Kong, Chairman of CITIC Group, in recognition of his remarkable accomplishments and unprecedented success in developing the CITIC Group’s large multinational presence with 44 subsidiaries located across the Asia Pacific region and North America. Global Leadership Honoree
John Chambers, Chairman & CEO of Cisco Systems, in recognition of his role in propelling Cisco into a successful international firm that provides a comprehensive range of innovative technological services and communication solutions in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as its significant philanthropic activities in China and India, particularly in education and healthcare.
Humanitarian Service Honoree
Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, State Minister of Women and Children Affairs of Bangladesh, in recognition of her role as a leader in advocating the elimination of violence against women and mainstreaming women’s empowerment and employment in Bangladesh. She is also a lawyer by profession who has long committed herself to support human rights.
