Asia Society President to Attend APEC Meetings in the Philippines
NEW YORK, November 9, 2015 — Asia Society President and CEO Josette Sheeran travels to Manila this week to take part in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders’ Week.
On the morning of Tuesday, November 17, Sheeran will address the APEC SME Summit 2015 on “The Megatrends that are Driving New Consumer Demand.” The summit is co-hosted by the APEC Business Advisory Council, the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship and the Asia Society Philippines. Other speakers include Sheila Marcelo, Founder and CEO of Care.com; David Plouffe, Chief Advisor and Board Member of Uber; and Karen Reddington, President of FedEx Express Asia Pacific.
Later that morning, Sheeran will participate in a panel at the APEC 2015 CEO Summit on “Strategies for Growth, Equity and Resilience” with President Truong Tan Sang of Vietnam; John Chen, Executive Chairman and CEO of Blackberry; E. Allan Gabor, President and CEO of Merck Biopharma China; and Donald Kanak, Chairman of Prudential Corporation Asia. Approximately 1,100 CEOs and business leaders from across the Asia-Pacific are expected to attend the CEO Summit, billed as the region's premier business forum.
