Asia 21 Philippine Young Leaders Meet Asia Society President Josette Sheeran
Asia 21 Young Leaders from the Philippines had the opportunity to meet with Asia Society President and CEO Josette Sheeran for the first time. Josette, who was recently in Manila, spoke at the APEC SME Summit 2015 where she talked about the ‘The Megatrends that are Driving New Consumer Demands’, and had kindly set aside time afterwards to meet and greet the Philippine Asia21ers.
In attendance were Asia 21 Young Leaders who are at the forefront of business, innovation, entrepreneurship, and social impact in the country: Paolo Benigno ‘Bam’ Aquino IV, Senator of the Philippines; Ibrahim ‘Ibba’ Bernardo, Founder and CEO of Sari Software Solutions; Arnel Casanova, President and CEO of Bases Conversion and Development Authority; Doris Dumlao, Business Reporter of the Philippine Daily Inquirer; Reese Fernandez-Ruiz, President of Rags2Riches; Martin Lopez, Director of the Far Eastern University’s Committee on Culture; Quintin Pastrana, Managing Director of Library Renewal Partnership; and Love Gregorie Perez, Senior Executive in Social Entrepreneurship, Social Development, Impact Investing and Incubation.
The APEC SME Summit was presented by ABAC (APEC Business Advisory Council which is chaired by Doris Magsaysay-Ho), in partnership with Asia Society Philippines and the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship. The summit anchored on the theme of “Innovation and Big Ideas: Pushing Boundaries.” The event was held on 17 November 2015 at the Green Sun in Makati City as part of the week-long APEC events held in Manila recently. Philippine President Benigno Aquino III delivered the Keynote Address to discuss the inextricable link between innovation and inclusive economies.
