Policy
For more than 50 years, Asia Society has been a leading force in bringing together leaders from the public and private sectors for engaged policy dialogue on Asia and US-Asia relations. Through international meetings, task forces, and timely, insightful briefings on issues of global and regional importance, the Society’s programs respond to fast-breaking events and important trends in Asia. Asia Society has further expanded its active role in preparing Asians and Americans for a shared future with new initiatives focused on critical environmental issues and through the launch of its new Center on US-China Relations. The institution also fosters a commitment to the next generation of global leaders through its Asia 21 Young Leaders program, a multi-sectoral network of emerging leaders under the age of 40. Asia 21 encourages fresh thinking on creative ways to address critical challenges while focusing on developing leadership skills and a commitment to public service among young leaders.

Business
Asia Society’s business programs offer unparalleled access to the leaders and the latest information that every business needs to succeed in Asia. Asia Society conferences and briefings offer corporate executives and their employees insights on key trends and innovative business solutions. In addition to a full range of programs at each of the Centers in the US and Asia, Asia Society’s annual Asian Corporate Conference (ACC) serves as Asia’s premier multi-sectoral platform for exploring trends and geopolitical developments for the region and the world. More than 1,200 government leaders, senior business executives, entrepreneurs, academics, and prominent media from across the globe gather for Asia Society’s signature corporate event. (For more information on the 2009 Asian Corporate Conference in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, or on our recent conferences in China, India, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia, please visit our ACC website.) In addition to it commitment to tracking major business trends, Asia Society also works closely with its corporate partners and Diversity Council leaders in examining best practices that are preparing multinational businesses for the challenges and opportunities of leadership in an increasingly diverse global workforce.

Museum
Asia Society Museum is one of the world’s premier organizers of exhibitions of traditional and contemporary Asian art. The Museum’s permanent collection, The Mr. and Mrs. John D. Rockefeller 3rd Collection of Asian Art, includes masterworks from South, Southeast, and East Asia, dating from 2000 B.C.E. to the 19th century, reflecting the great achievements and wide diversity of Asian arts and cultures. Each year, Asia Society Museum presents more than seven exhibitions, many that tour nationally and internationally and are accompanied by original exhibition catalogues. The Asia Society Museum was one of the first U.S. institutions to feature contemporary art from China and India, and remains a leader in presenting the best contemporary art from Asian and Asian American artists. In addition, the Society’s museum education program includes teachers and student workshops and an annual exhibition of work by school students inspired by Asian art and culture.

Beginning in 2010, Asia Society will further expand the reach of its exhibitions with the opening of new museums in both Hong Kong and Houston.

Performing Arts and Culture
Through performances, films, author talks, and lectures by artists and cultural leaders, Asia Society explores the vital expressions of diverse Asian cultures. The Society features music, dance, and theater focusing on four interrelated areas: traditional performance genres of Asia, contemporary performance from Asia, new commissions, and works by Asian American performing artists. Asia Society also organizes national and international performance tours and features a season full of cultural programs and activities for families.

Education
Today’s students will be the citizens and leaders of the 21st Century, heirs to a world that grows smaller and more interconnected everyday. For the United States to continue to prosper, all students must have the opportunities to learn about other world regions and languages. The world will demand it of them—we need to demand it of our education system. Asia Society is a leader in this effort through its work in educational policy, educator resources, and network of school partners in creating the most innovative approaches to global education. Among its many initiatives, Asia Society's Chinese Language in the Schools program is working with partners in the public and private sector to address the disparity between our need for more Chinese language programs in American schools and our current limited capacity.
