Asia Society is the leading educational organization dedicated to promoting mutual understanding and strengthening partnerships among peoples, leaders and institutions of Asia and the United States in a global context. Across the fields of arts, business, culture, education, and policy, the Society provides insight, generates ideas, and promotes collaboration to address present challenges and create a shared future.
Founded in 1956, the Asia Society is a nonpartisan, nonprofit educational institution with offices in Hong Kong, Houston, Los Angeles, Manila, Mumbai, New York, San Francisco, Seoul, Shanghai, Sydney and Washington, DC.
About Asia Society Northern California
Asia Society Northern California opened in 1998 and offers some 60 public programs each year to a growing local constituency. Through art exhibitions and performances, films, lectures, panel discussions, and conferences, we present the uniqueness and diversity of Asia to the Bay Area.
Founded in 1956, the Asia Society is a leading global organization committed to fostering dialogue and building a community for all those with a passionate interest in Asia. As one of eleven Asia Society centers worldwide, Asia Society Northern California offers fresh perspectives on the forces and issues shaping the US-Asia relationship. From food, fashion, and film, to politics, business, and social issues, we present innovative, multi-disciplinary programs that bring together members and experts to create an active and informed community.
Our membership reflects the rich diversity of America’s gateway to the Pacific, including individuals who have worked or studied in Asia and those who would like to know more.
