Creation Station: Aboriginal Australian Art

Creation Station: Aboriginal Australian Art

(bookchen/Flickr)

Discover Aborigines’ dreamtime art and the importance of the kangaroo in Australia’s history.

Indigenous Australians have been expressing their world through paintings on rocks and bark for thousands of years, and this family activity will examine traditions and content for this art form. Our projects will focus on Aboriginal dot paintings and bark drawings, both of which are simple enough for young ages and engaging for teenage visitors. Recommended for ages 6 and older.
