States know they are no longer competing with their neighboring states, but rather other countries. States now benchmark themselves against the knowledge and skills of students from around the world.
The world is changing, and, inescapably, America is changing along with it. Unfortunately, our schools are not responding to these challenges as rapidly or as effectively as they should.
There is an inverse relationship between the growing importance of international relations and how little most high school graduates know. This article outlines ways to correct the problem.
