As the demand for information about China continues to rise, Asia Society Texas Center presents information on an engaging, relevant topic that will be invaluable for your students in their academic careers and beyond.

Sometimes referred to as the “Group of Two,” the diplomatic partnership between the United States and the People’s Republic of China is considered one of the most important on both sides of the Pacific. This educator workshop will introduce the history of relations between the two countries, the Sino-US partnership during Obama’s first term, and pressure points for the future.

Following an expert lecture, teachers will take part in an activity designed for easy application into the classroom. All workshop participants will receive two hours of GT credit from the Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented (TAGT) and a free copy, while supplies last, of Understanding China: Introduction to China’s History, Society, and Culture by Jin Bo.
