Marissa Roth exhibits photographs from her 30-year global project addressing how women are affected by war. Photos include Japanese women who survived the atomic bomb, Vietnamese women who were activists and combatants against the U.S., and Cambodian women who survived the Khmer Rouge. Roth’s books include Infinite Light: A Photographic Meditation on Tibet. One Person Crying opens on Saturday, January 17, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm; Gallery Talk is on Sunday, January 18, 2:00 pm; Workshop with Roth is on Saturday, January 24, 9:00 am – noon and Sunday, January 25, 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm. On Ensemble will share a program with musicians Kaoru Watanabe and Sumie Kaneko as part of the inaugural ARATANI World series of global music and dance. The series celebrates the songs, sounds and dance of seven ensembles both local and international from Africa, India, Hawaii, Philippines, Japan, Bulgaria, Latin America, Central Java, Brazil, New York and Los Angeles who are carrying forth and transforming their rich cultural traditions.  For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.
