Tawara's art shakes you up and buzzes through what you thought you knew about art. Between Tawara's fascinating personal story and even more fascinating Eastern perspective on Western art, Universe Is Flux will be 'a moment of Zen' that may last you a lifetime.
– Bob Duggan, Big Think, December 2011

How does an artist like Tawara Yūsaku (1932–2004) translate Buddhist concepts of cosmology and space, the expansive genius of Leonardo da Vinci, and his own unique technical approach into paintings filled with both subtly and power? Join John Teramoto, Curator of Asian Art at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, for a fascinating exploration of Tawara’s ink works and the wide-ranging principles upon which they are based. Talk includes gallery admission to Universe is Flux: The Art of Tawara Yūsaku.
