For Asia Society Museum, Korean artist U-Ram Choe has created a kinetic, seal-like creature that appears to be breathing while dozens of intricate "wings," leaf-like and gold in color, flutter above him.
The New York Timesreports that recently freed Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei — whose New York photos are currently on display at Asia Society Museum — is reportedly back at work. Swiss gallery owner Urs Meile told the paper that he visited Ai from June 30 to July 3 and that the artist was in good health.
Opening just seven days after the famed Chinese artist's release from detention for alleged tax evasion in China, the Asia Society Museum exhibition Ai Weiwei: New York Photographs 1983-1993 received immediate and widespread coverage from international news media.
