Asia Society Texas Center seeks enthusiastic volunteers to assist with tours, programs, and general office support. Please see below for descriptions of current volunteer opportunities.
Art Gallery and Architecture Tour Docents
Art Gallery Docents guide gallery visitors through current art exhibitions while sharing their knowledge and providing patrons with the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Asian art and culture. We request that all applicants for the Art Gallery Docent assignment have previous experience as a docent, as well as a general knowledge of Asia and/or Asian art.
Architecture Tour Docents lead private, public, and school group tours through the Center’s building, designed by the distinguished Japanese architect Yoshio Taniguchi. These volunteers will share information about the building’s design features, materials, and the many programs offered within.
Prospective Art Gallery Docents and Architecture Tour Docents do not have to be experts on Asian art or architecture but must enjoy learning and sharing knowledge with people and be comfortable speaking in public to diverse audiences. This is a wonderful opportunity to expand your horizons, learn more about the world, and gain new skills. Docents are required to attend all training sessions and be available for a minimum of four tours per month.

Summer camp volunteers will assist with visual art projects and workshops related to culture and performing arts and aid Asia Society staff to maintain an enriching and efficient summer camp experience. The summer camp volunteer application can be downloaded here.
