Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni: Oleander Girl

Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni: Oleander Girl

Books in Conversation

Asia Society Texas Center is proud to host the launch of Oleander Girl by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni. Called “an entrancing storyteller with an unerring moral compass,” Divakaruni is a masterful creator of graceful, well-plotted prose. Her latest work, Oleander Girl, is no exception. It tells the story of seventeen-year-old Korobi Roy who is thrust out of a sheltered Kolkata life into a courageous and troubled search, in the company of an attractive stranger, across post-9/11 America. Oleander Girl proves, once again, that Divakaruni is a unique and determined voice able to illumine the specific and the universal with equal aplomb.
