About Asia Society
Asia Society is an independent, not-for-profit educational institution dedicated to promoting mutual understanding and strengthening partnerships among peoples, leaders and institutions of Asia and the United States. Founded in 1956 in New York, it fosters inter-regional connections to prepare Asians and Americans for a shared future through its eleven global centers.
About Asia Society Korea
Launched in April 2008, and nearly two years in the planning, the Asia Society Korea Center grew out of momentum generated in Korea by the Asia Society's 2004 Asian Corporate Conference and the 2006 Asia 21 Young Leaders Summit, both of which were held in Seoul.
The Korea Center serves as an active gateway for engagement on issues affecting Korea, the Asia-Pacific region and US-Asia ties. The Center presents programs addressing policy, business, and education, as well as arts and culture, and integrates Korean voices into the broad range of Asia Society programs across the region. Educational and technology-based programs highlight Korea's competitiveness and interactivity with the world.
아시아소사이어티는 미국과 아시아의 이해증진을 목적으로 1956년 록펠러 3세가 창립한 국제기관입니다. 현재 뉴욕 본사를 비롯해 아시아 태평양 지역에 총 10개의 지부를 운영 중이며, 정책, 비지니스, 문화와 예술, 교육의 네 가지 사업분야에 걸쳐 다양한 교류와 협력 활동을 통해 아시아 태평양 지역의 세계화 및 상호관계 활성화에 기여하고 있습니다. 또한 전세계 리더들 간의 글로벌 네트워크 형성을 통해 새로운 아이디어가 집합하는 열린 포럼의 장이자 차세대 지도자 육성을 위한 자원으로 기능하고 있습니다.
아시아소사이어티 코리아센터는 아시아소사이어티가 서울에서 주최한 2004 Asian Corporate Conference와 2006 Asia 21 Young Leaders Summit을 통해 그 발판을 마련하여 2008년 4월 정식 설립되었습니다. 코리아센터는 정책, 비지니스, 문화와 예술, 교육의 네 가지 사업분야에 걸쳐 한국 사회의 주요 이슈를 세계에 전달함과 동시에 한국과 미국, 나아가 아태지역을 연결하는 유일한 국제기관으로서 한국이 진정한 세계화의 중심에 설 수 있도록 기여하고 있습니다.
