Vijay Iyer and Mike Ladd: In What Language?

NEW YORK, May 2003 — Highlights from In What Language? A Song Cycle of Lives in Transit, commissioned and produced by the Asia Society. Conceived and created by composer Vijay Iyer and librettist Mike Ladd, the performance was directed by Rachel Dickstein with Projection Design and lighting by Clifton Taylor. Featuring Latasha N. Nevada Diggs, Allison Easter, Michael Ladd, Ajay Naidu, Ambrose Akinmusire (trumpet), Stephan Crump (bass), Liberty Ellman (guitar), Trevor Holder (drums), Vijay Iyer (piano), Dana Leong (trombone and cello) and Rudresh Mahanthappa (saxophone).
