Dr. Tony Wagner of the Change Leadership Group at Harvard offers advice to schools on how to develop student skills they will need in a global society. Follow the PointPoint presentation. (00:29:11)
No one is going to implement the seven skills that students need in a school classroom. It is the responsibility of the child's parents to teach them the points that Wagner makes. They cannot become robots.
Dr. Tony Wagner is right on. You may not hear these comments from one my age but I grew up in the 50's. I do not remember the testing we are so concerned about today. Teaching kids how to be productive citizens in this world along with (as we use to call them) the 3 r's is still vital. You probably would not be amazed at the number of individuals in the Generation X group who do not know much at all about how our government works or the American Flag. I applaud you for your work and the direction you are going and I believe it is catching on here in our town.
Thank you
