Creation Station: Himalayan Masks
VIEW EVENT DETAILSMasks play an integral role in Himalayan folk culture and religious practices, such as shamanistic healing rituals. These visages also feature in the Buddhist and Hindu traditions of Bhutan, Nepal, and Tibet. Join us at Asia Society Texas Center to create your own mask, inspired by creations from across Himalayan Asia. As your masks dry, we invite you to visit Round Trip: Bicycling Asia Minor, 1891 during its final weeks in the Fayez Sarofim Grand Hall. There will also be two storytelling sessions, focusing on tales from the Himalayan world on charity, family values, and kindness.
