Paper marbling in a printmaking technique that creates patterns similar to marble and comparable stones. These patterns themselves float on the water, then are applied to an absorbent surface, such as paper or a valuable fabric. Its origins begin in 10th century China, however today it is especially popular in the Islamic World, notably in Turkey, where it is known as ebru. The October 5 project will use family-friendly water colors and focus on styles and imagery from Central Asia.
