The Iran Salon
VIEW EVENT DETAILSAfter decades of relative isolation, the nuclear deal - which went into effect in early 2016 - seemed to signal the start of a stronger re-integration of Iran into the global community. But with a more skeptical incoming US administration and its own presidential elections coming up in May, the future path of the country and its effect on the region look uncertain.
At its inaugural Salon, Asia Society Switzerland will provide different perspectives on the society, politics and everyday life in contemporary Iran. Held at the beautiful Villa Tobler in Zurich and borrowing from the tradition of literary salons, this event will allow guests to engage in informal conversations with a former ambassador, a political scientist, and an author. The conversations will happen in parallel.
Speakers include Philippe Welti, former Swiss Ambassador to Iran; Ramita Navai, award-winning British-Iranian journalist and author, and Iran analyst Hossein Rassam.
Tickets: 80 CHF / Members: 40 CHF (How to become a member?)
