About Chef Hemant Mathur

Hemant Mathur first came to the United States from his hometown of Jaipur, India, 16 years ago and has since contributed to the success of some of New York City's top Indian restaurants, including Tamarind and Devi. One of the country's leading tandoor masters, he recently opened his own restaurant, Tulsi (which means "holy basil") in Manhattan.

About Chef Surbhi Sahni

Currently the executive pastry chef at Tulsi, Surbhi Sahni made her mark on New York's culinary map when she served as executive pastry chef at the highly acclaimed Tamarind in 2001, and later became widely known for her desserts when she held the same position at Dévi restaurant, also in New York City. She recently started her own catering company, Bittersweet NYC, which specializes in custom-designed wedding cakes.


The Starlight Orchestra has performed for some of the nation's most illustrious events, such as Superbowl XVL, Presidential inaugurations, annual NASCAR championship parties, the Kentucky Derby, and on the hit TV show The Sopranos. They're sure to keep the beat going all night long!
