Breaking the Bamboo Ceiling
VIEW EVENT DETAILSPlease join Asia Society Southern California and the international law firm Hogan Lovells for a thought-provoking discussion with Jun Wei, Managing Partner of the Hogan Lovells Beijing office and a former Legislative Affairs Commission member of the Chinese National People's Congress. In government, she was a key member in drafting and interpreting many important Chinese business and investment laws. As a practicing attorney, Wei was named as one of the Top 15 Female Lawyers in China by Asian Legal Business.
Wei will discuss her background as a member of the Chinese National People's Congress, how she overcame professional adversity and the challenges of a male-dominated workplace in China, as well as how she later became one of the top lawyers in Asia. She will answer questions and discuss her thoughts on the traits that successful women share, the future of the legal profession in China, and how women are driving change in Asia and beyond.
