Philippine Embassy in Israel Welcomes Young Pinoy Achiever
Another Filipino has made the country proud, as the Philippine Embassy in Israel welcomed 11-year old Kathleen Louis Eligato and her parents. The embassy congratulated Kathleen for winning the second place at the Beit Serfer Le Musica 2010 singing contest last December 31.
Despite of being the only foreigner in the competition, Kathleen managed to stand out among the contestants. It was also the first time that a Filipino won a prominent award in the Israeli competition.
Kathleen’s mentor, Mati Caspi, is a well-known musicial and also a well-respected singer, songwriter, and conductor.
Her song choices, “I Am Beautiful” and “On My Own”, landed her a 2.5 thousand dollar musical scholarship, as well as an exclusive contract with Tedy TV.
There have been many young Filipino singers worldwide that made the country proud and Kathleen is one of them. Their achievement will definitely serve as an inspiration, not only to aspiring singers, but, of course, their respective Filipino community.
