The Asia Society Northern California in partnership with Christie’s Auction House and China Live will present a lecture on ‘The Chinese Art Market: Status, Trends and Record-Setting Prices’ by Elizabeth Hammer, Senior Specialist and Head of Sale, Christie’s New York.

The Chinese art market is one of the strongest, quickest expanding, and complex fields. This talk, which focuses on Chinese paintings and an international vantage, traces the rapid growth and change of the Chinese art market in recent decades and how it reflects economic and political developments, as well as cultural influences.
