In 2007, Prince William County, VA adopted a law allowing police to question anyone they had "probable cause" to believe was an illegal immigrant, igniting a fierce debate over racial profiling, big government and individual liberty. To respond, filmmakers Annabel Park and Eric Byler began making a real-time, interactive Youtube documentary, 9500 Liberty, uploading developments in the immigration drama as they unfolded. Subscribers posted comments, questions and requests, and the filmmakers responded by filming new segments addressing those user comments, creating a new form of documentary. Two years later, 9500 Liberty has been become a feature film that is garnering rave reviews.
