Peter Sands has been Group Chief Executive of Standard Chartered plc since 2006, following four years as Group Finance Director. He was previously Director and senior partner with consultants McKinsey & Co, working extensively in the banking and technology sectors in a wide range of international markets, after having worked for the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Peter is lead non-executive board member of the UK Department of Health; Co-Chair of the India UK CEO Forum; Chair of the Institute of International Finance’s Special Committee on Effective Regulation and sits on the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s International Advisory Panel. He graduated from University of Oxford and holds a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University, where he was a Harkness Fellow.
