The united states entered the industrial age and the economy rapidly improved a century ago and became a superpower. Its not only because of this but of old fasion rivalry between the communist soviet and western democracy. because of the cold war technology has rapidly increased in both sides. gps, internet all came from cold war era technologies. to be honest i prefer democracy than communism. people should have the freedom to be believe what they want or how to live their lives. nobody should dictate how they should live. the downfall of the soviet came because it was culturally inferior than western nations. You could even say that america won over the soviet not by military but by culture and inluence alone. the soviet were backwards and did not have bright minds even though they were technologically advanced. china is a communist. What kind of influence will china bring to other nations? communism, maoism? u must be shittin, china has no cultural influence, no one wants to adopt their culture or lifestyle they invented nothing on culture they worship the western culture. china only wants to do bussines with member states. Thats what they were born to do.

the chinese government does not represent we chinese people. you can say the chinese government shitty-like because lots of chinese people think that way, too. we chinese people want freedom and we hate what the government has done to us. speaking of the communism, say whatever you want but behaving nice when talk about chinese.

china can never be a super power only a great power. china may become economically superior in the future but its military technology will not be superior to that of western nations but may be similar. china cannot projet power world wide like the united states. the US has bases all around the world over 36 countries with strategic commands norrad etc ready for deployment. Not only that america and Nato consist of 70% of the military spending in the world. It will be a very, very long time for china to catch up. mabey forever. Even if chian does manage to become techlogically equivilant to their western counterparts they still would be outmatched because the US and nato have military experience from many wars, gulf, afghanistan, iraq, vietnam, korea etc. America will be to tackle gorilla warefare due to their experience in iraq and afghanistan. Not only that space virtually belongs to the united states. they have heaviliy militarised space. Research and developement abouot space technologies and building new spaceships are all done by US and some credit does go to russians aswell because they are experts to aviation. To be honest china may be hard to invade but they cannot invade a powerful country. communism is a thing of the past. all those thing in tabloid, and news saying china becoming a super power in the future is bullshit.

China has surpassed the US as a Global Superpower already. They presently produce the highest levels of pollution the world has ever seen, their human rights are abysmal, intolerance of minority groups is atrocious, political freedom is stifled, freedom of speech is strictly controlled, governmental corruption is rampant, corporate greed goes unpunished, and finally, the US no longer has the political will to stand up to a country that threatens to limit US imports while exporting products shamelessly that kill, maim and pollute. A superpower exists.....and it is not the United States of America. God Bless America.

No. Even though China is technologically advanced, its government is so messed up. Communism just doesn't work. Socially they are a mess. The only thing that makes them powerful at all is their technology. For example, a few days ago they became the #1 country in car sales, but millions of cars they made were all over a gigantic field being sold. The thing is they don't know how to use their smarts. The US will be the superpower forever because it is a capitalist country where the government does not controll everything the citizens do. That is the key. Our government is THAT GOOD> GO US!!!!!

China is trying to make it happen by being a bully to all the smaller Asia country, but let's face it, with the lack of innovative thinking and under par quality of good produce, China will never be the mighty power in the world. As large a population China, I would said it is underachieving as far as dissing out the talent, ideas and other contributing factor to the global market. The only thing China is known for these day are producing good with toxic or some other agent that can be poisonous to human and the lack of environmental awareness. I've adopted the habit of not purchasing anything (especially food) made in China for my family and kids.
