Breakfast Yoga Club Houston
VIEW EVENT DETAILSLifelong Learning
After a successful partnership in October 2012, the Breakfast Yoga Club Houston returns to Asia Society Texas Center for its April session.
The Breakfast Yoga Club (BYC) is a grass roots organization honoring all traditions of yoga. Attendees at this event will enjoy learning from a wide variety of teachers, encompassing distinct styles, such as hatha and vinyasa. A soothing musical background and hot breakfast often accompany the gatherings, funded through donations and run by volunteers. BYC Houston will also highlight a local charity to raise awareness and support, with the intention of inspiring seva and cultivating activism in the community.
Asia Society Texas Center’s Festival Lawn will offer a serene backdrop for practicing centuries’ old breathing and stretching techniques in a contemporary setting.
Breakfast Yoga Club Featured Organization
FrenetiCore was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 2003 by Rebecca French and Robert Thoth with the goal of creating cutting-edge multi-media dance theater productions unlike any others found in the Houston area. The aim of creating a community arts center and offering affordable theater/rehearsal space for local artists. FrenetiCore began an Artist-in-Residence program in March 2010 to support emerging and established artists in the Houston area. Participants receive technical and marketing support as well as access to free rehearsal and performance space at Frenetic Theater. And also, in September 2010 FrenetiCore began FrenetiKids, a free after-school dance and theater program for underprivileged youth in Houston’s East End, culminating in a year end showing performed by the students. Help support the individual arts.
