Author Duncan Clark dropped by Asia Society on Wednesday night to discuss his new book, Alibaba: The House That Jack Ma Built. In a conversation with Orville Schell, the Arthur Ross director of U.S.-China Relations at Asia Society, and Bobby Ghosh, managing editor for Quartz, Clark described how Ma rose from humble beginnings in China's Zhejiang Province to become his country's most prominent entrepreneur.
In a review for the Wall Street Journal, Asia Society Executive Vice President Tom Nagorski praised Clark's book for distilling the essence of the quirky business leader's personality.
