Listen: 'Refugee' Performed by A.J. Khaw, Sumie Kaneko, and Pablo Eluchans
Trio to perform at Asian Pacific American Heritage Month celebration at Asia Society on May 3
As you may have heard, Asia Society is throwing a pretty big party Friday night (details here) to mark Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. One of the many features of the evening is live music by a very unique jazz trio. Burmese-American keyboardist A.J. Khaw, who played at our holiday celebration back in December, will be joined by Sumie Kaneko on the koto and Pablo Eluchans on the cajon. They got together in Brooklyn last night for a practice session, and Khaw recorded a version of one of his orginal pieces called "Refugee" on his iPhone. Have a listen below, and don't forget to come on Friday!
