Social Media, Arts and Change in the Muslim World

Social Media, Arts and Change in the Muslim World

Rock the Casbah by Robin Wright (Simon & Schuster, 2011); Drummer Mohsin Din of Zerobridge.

Change has swept across the Muslim world, and beyond, since the beginning of 2011. The dynamics of this change has been powered by social media, popular music, blogs, rock and roll, hip hop, comedy and the arts.

Join a distinguished group of panelists — MTV Iggy's Nusrat Durrani, journalist Robin Wright (Rock the Casbah: Rage and Rebellion Across the Islamic World), poet and journalist Eliza Griswold (The Tenth Parallel), performing arts producer Zeyba Rahman, and Fulbright Scholar, artist and academic Mohsin Din to discuss the power of the arts to ignite change and create community. Moderated by Rachel Cooper, Director of Performing Arts and Cultural Programs, Asia Society.

This program is part of Asia Society's ongoing initiative Creative Voices of Islam in Asia.
