A small-time Chinese fortune hunter dreams of making it big as he bulldozes his way through a century-and-a-half of American history. Tony Award-winning actor BD Wong (Law and Order: SVU) leads a first-rate cast in a sparkling concert staging of this smart, funny, and relevant new musical.

Listen to a sample track from the Heading East demo recording:

"What Kind of Man" (6 min., 47 sec.)

Canton, China, 1848. As the impoverished peasants slave in the fields and an aged storyteller spins a tale about the beginning of the world, 17-year old Siu Yee Tong blusters through a marketplace, dreaming of bigger things.

Performed by Ming Lee (Storyteller), BD Wong (Siu Yee), Orville Mendoza (Vegetable Seller) and Cindy Cheung (Passing Peasant), with Leon Ko and Robert Lee (Ensemble).
