NEW YORK, December 13, 2017 — Hassan Abbas, Rana Foroohar, Evan Medeiros, and Kevin Rudd participate in Asia Society’s year-end tradition of predicting what’s in store for Asia in 2018. The conversation was moderated by Tom Nagorski. (1 hr., 26 min.)
Join us as we reflect on the past year and peer into what’s in store for Asia in 2018. Hassan Abbas, Rana Foroohar, Evan Medeiros, and the Hon. Kevin Rudd will participate in Asia Society’s year-end tradition, soon after President Trump is expected to have returned from his maiden trip to Asia. The North Korean nuclear crisis, battlefield losses of the Islamic State, and the Rohingya humanitarian disaster continue to grab headlines. China’s Belt and Road Initiative, the simmering tensions between Pakistan and India — two nuclear armed states — and the convening of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China will have global implications. What can we expect in Asia for 2018?
