Asia Society Celebrates Summer Streets 2017
Take a culture break with Asia Society at Summer Streets
Asia Society is thrilled to participate in New York's tenth annual Summer Streets on Saturday, August 5th from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm. Organized by the New York City Department of Transportation, the annual event transforms nearly 7 miles of Park Avenue into a car-free zone for cyclists and pedestrians to enjoy fun activities, performances, and programming as a celebration of public space.
Stop by Asia Society's tent at the "Central Park Rest Stop" on 71st and Park Avenue for an origami workshop featuring flying dragon paper airplanes by Sam Ita and Paul Frasco (10:30 am to 11:30 am), temporary tattoos and coloring by Filipino illustrator Kerby Rosanes, and more. Head to Asia Society Museum between 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and mention Summer Streets to receive free admission to the exhibition Lucid Dreams and Distant Visions: South Asian Art in the Diaspora and 10% off any purchases at AsiaStore. Refreshments from Butterfield Catering will be available for purchase in our lobby Visitor Center from 10am to 3pm.
