LONDON, January 9, 2014 — The Huffington Post and the Berggruen Institute on Governance today announce the creation of THEWORLDPOST, a new online publication that will bring together an unparalleled group of contributors from diverse countries, backgrounds, and perspectives.
Editorial board members and contributors include a diverse range of political leaders, past and present; global thinkers and Nobel laureates; and disruptive entrepreneurs from game-changing technology companies.
By joining the political and policy clout and global programs of the Berggruen Institute on Governance with the distribution power, state-of-the-art media platform, news, features and investigative reporting of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Huffington Post, THEWORLDPOST promises to be an entirely new and influential force on the global media landscape.
Nicolas Berggruen commented:
The Huffington Post has changed the boundaries and reinvented the media, as we know it today. With its award winning journalism and global reach, now with ten thriving international editions, I am confident this joint initiative will help shape and cultivate the ideas of tomorrow.
Arianna Huffington commented:
Having served with Nicolas on the Institute's 21st Century Council, and most recently in Beijing this month, where we had a unique set of meetings with Chinese political, business and media leaders, I have seen first-hand the impressive work of the Institute in a short space of time and I can think of no better partner as we continue to expand the global reach and influence of our work at The Huffington Post.
THEWORLDPOST can be found both at http://www.theworldpost.com and in place of the current World section of the Huffington Post at http://www.huffingtonpost.com/world/. Its content will be published by the ten international editions of the Huffington Post including, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Japan, and Brazil.
Content will be syndicated through the Global Viewpoint Network of the Tribune Media Services to print publications around the world ranging from The South China Morning Post to El Pais to O Estado de Sao Paulo to Yomiuri Shimbun, among many others. Building on the work of Global Viewpoint over the last two decades, THEWORLDPOST will continue to provide unique op-eds to publications such as The Financial Times and The International Herald Tribune.
Asia Society will provide THEWORLDPOST with world-class, distinctive content about Asia - on current events, policy, business, and the arts and culture.
"THEWORLDPOST can help build critical bridges of understanding, and we are proud to be a premier partner for its Asia content," said Asia Society President & CEO Josette Sheeran. "From 'ChinaFile' to Asia Society blogs to videos of our top-flight events, our content will help THEWORLDPOST reach leaders throughout Asia."

A lot of information is floating around the world, but there is precious little communication across cultural and political boundaries. THEWORLDPOST partnership between Huffington Post and the Berggruen Institute on Governance will go a long way toward helping to close this deficit by connecting the dots with a global perspective. I can think of no other publication out there with such an impressive roster of high-profile contributors from all corners of the planet. In short order, THEWORLDPOST will become an influential player.
Walter Isaacson commented:
Since the advent of new media, we've been waiting for a global on-line publication where the whole world can meet. THEWORLDPOST is it. The site brings together three powerful networks: the Huffington Post with 10 international editions; the prestigious Berggruen Institute on Governance, which just organized a rare dialogue with President Xi Jinxing of China; and Nathan Gardels' global range of contacts with top thinkers, writers and political leaders from his journal NPQ and Global Viewpoint service of the Los Angeles Times Syndicate/Tribune Media which stretches back decades.
