A refreshing drink-dessert popular in Mumbai and its surrounding cities.

Ingredients

1 teaspoon basil seeds
rooh afza syrup or rose syrup
iced water or cold milk
2 tablespoons psyllium husks*
crushed ice
agar-agar jelly (optional)

Directions

Soak basil seeds in 1 cup warm water for 10 minutes until they develop a slippery coating.

For each tall glass pour in 2 or 3 tablespoons of syrup, almost fill
the glass with water or milk and sprinkle with a teaspoon of psyllium
husks. Stir in a teaspoon of the soaked basil seeds and add crushed
ice. If liked, small dice of agar-agar jelly may also be added.
