About the speaker:
Mark Sungrae Kim is Partner-in-Charge (Head) of Heidrick & Struggles’ Korea office, and a member of the Consumer Markets and Healthcare & Life Sciences Practices. He has more than 24 years of experience in Executive Search and industry, having worked with both Korean and multinational companies. He has successfully placed more than 100 CEOs, Country Managers and Senior Executives in sectors including sales, marketing, finance, human resources, supply chain, medical, legal, regulatory affairs and public affairs.
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Mark spent 11 years with CJ CheilJedang and CJ Corp., a leading USD 20 billion consumer group in Korea. Having started as a Strategic Planning and Business Development Manager, he progressed to Head of Investor Relations, working closely with senior management and stakeholders including shareholders, investors, analysts and equity salesmen. He was recognized by Institutional Investor in the category ‘Asia’s Best Investor Relations in the Food, Beverage & Tobacco Industries’. Before that, Mark worked as a Foreign Exchange Dealer for FleetBoston (Bank of Boston) and in sales for SK Innovation’s (Kyungin Energy) aviation fuel business.
Mark speaks fluent Korean and English, as well as basic German, having spent a combined seven years in the US and Germany.
Education: Mark holds an MBA, and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea.
