Inspired by the book ‘SuperEconomies: America, India, China and the Future of the World’ join us for a conversation between author Raghav Bahl, Founder, Quintillion Media and Adil Zainulbhai, Senior Advisor, McKinsey India, moderated by Indrani Bagchi, Diplomatic Editor, The Times of India as they discuss global economics and how the world may look in 2050.
Raghav Bahl, is a journalist, entrepreneur and media baron. He was the founder of Network 18, which he headed until 2014, when he exited to focus on his dream of creating a new-age digital media company, The Quint, besides spending more time on public affairs. In 1994, the World Economic Forum named him a Global Leader of Tomorrow and he won India's Sanskriti Award for Journalism. Ernst & Young named him the Entrepreneur of the Year for Business Transformation in 2007.
Adil Zainulbhai retired as Chairman of McKinsey, India after 34 years at McKinsey, and the last 10 years in India. Over the last 10 years in India, Zainulbhai has worked directly with the CEOs and promoters of some of the major companies in India and globally – private companies, MNCs and PSUs. He has recently been appointed as the Chairman of the Quality Council of India by the Prime Minister. Zainulbhai co-edited the book, ‘Reimagining India’ and is currently on the Boards of Reliance Industries Ltd., Larsen & Toubro Ltd., Network18 and Cipla.
Indrani Bagchi is Diplomatic Editor with The Times of India, where she reports and analyses foreign policy issues for the newspaper. Bagchi covers daily news on foreign affairs in the foreign office, as well as interprets and analyzes global trends with an Indian perspective. Bagchi has been a Reuters Fellow, in Oxford University (1996). In 2010, she was awarded the Chang Lin-Tien fellowship by the Asia Foundation to study US-China relations at Brookings Institution, Washington DC.
