Wendy Cutler On Trans-Pacific Partnership and Asian Economy
HONG KONG, 11th December, 2015 - After 7 years of negotation, The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), a trade agreement amongst 12 Pacific Rim countries has finally reached a consensus this year. Wendy Cutler, being the Acting Deputy US Trade Representative then, was responsible for the bilateral negotiations with Japan on the TPP. The recently appointed Vice President of Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI) was invited to shed light on the next steps of the US government in pushing the proposal through legislative approval in the country. She concluded the presentation by sharing her opinions on how TPP can fit into the trade architecture of Asia.
