Slideshow: Thai Family Day
Asia Society Hong Kong Center's first Family Day attracted over 400 adults and children on Sunday, May 27, 2012. The all-day event featured musical performance by Hong Kong New Music Ensemble, traditional Thai dance performance — Fawn Thai, and muay thai kick-boxing demonstration. Participants also had a chance to watch a Thai folk tale of the legend of Princess Manorah through shadow puppet performance. Other activities included face painting, modeling with traditional Thai costumes, and an arts and craft corner where kids learned to make traditional Thai handicrafts such as small fish from strips of paper using plain weave, and Hanging Tung (Thai hanging mobile using crepe paper).
