Ron Huldai: About Tel Aviv
HONG KONG, November 24, 2014 — Proudly announcing that his city, Tel Aviv, was elected the smartest city at the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona, Ron Huldai, the mayor of Israel's capital city, presented in a luncheon lecture at Asia Society Hong Kong Center. Comparing the population and size of Tel Aviv and Hong Kong, Huldai gave the audience a picture of the city and its history. From talking about the needs of the young to seeking cooperation with Hong Kong and greater China, Ron Huldai sought to let this side of the world know more about Israel and his city.
"We think that the future lies in the connection with China and Hong Kong is a kind of gate to bring opportunity to all of us," stated Huldai, clarifying the reason for his visit.
When asked about his plans for his term and whether to run for a fifth term, Huldai revealed his views on thinking for the long term and the probability of "jumping to the national level."
