Caravaggio’s Supper at Emmaus depicts the moment Jesus Christ revealing himself to his disciples following his resurrection. Led by Kingsley Ng, artist and lecturer at the Master of Visual Art Programme in the Hong Kong Baptist University, MVA (Experience Design) students Hong, Jane and Carlo have developed seven jams that depict the disciples' emotions on the way to Emmaus as narrated in Luke Chapter 24.
Through jam tasting, participants can experience the disciples' complicated emotions from sorrow, fear to comfort, to hope and joy. They will also get a chance to make two types of jam at this interactive workshop.
Combining tastes and emotions, this “jam experience” should offer a unique channel to your interpretation of Supper at Emmaus beyond and above your eye-sight alone. All participants will also get to take home seven types of jam representing seven emotions, pre-packaged on a specially-designed painting palette, and a secret jam recipe that will allow you to re-create your favorite flavors at home.
