A forum featuring AIA International Director and members of the AIA International Committee speaking on global architectural practice illustrated with case studies of international projects by Pei Cobb Freed & Partners’ (PCF&P) including the Bank of China in Hong Kong.
I.M. Pei, FAIA, RIBA, Founding Partner of PCF&P, has been a leading figure in architecture since his emigration from China to the US in 1935. Known for his innovative use of natural elements, open spaces and simple geometric forms and patterns, Pei has designed some of the world's most recognizable buildings, including the East Building of the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC (1978), the Bank of China Tower in Hong Kong (1988) and the glass-and-steel pyramid for the Louvre in Paris (1993).
George H. Miller, FAIA, Partner of Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, is responsible for the firm's business development and much of its international practice. Mr. Miller has also served as the American Institute of Architects’ President and is active with its International Committee Advisory group.
George Kunihiro, FAIA, is an architect and educator based in Tokyo. He has been active throughout Asia as the Past President of ARCASIA (Architects Regional Council of Asia) as well as the Director of Public Relations for the UIA 2011 Tokyo World Congress.
