Hong Kong Asian Independent Film Festival
The Hong Kong Asian Independent Film Festival (HKAIFF) features 29 films from the region including China, India, Iran, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Turkey. Curated by non-profit organization Ying E Chi, meet-the-director sessions, and masterclasses are coupled with most screenings, making HKAIFF a platform for sharing and discussion on critical issues in Asia. A special section of the 2009 festival is dedicated to those who lost their homes and loved ones to the Sichuan Earthquake, featuring documentaries by filmmakers from Hong Kong, Macau and the Mainland.
For full program and ticketing details, please refer to the festival website at www.hkaiff.hk. Asia Society members are entitled to a 15% discount on ticket purchases (priced at $60) at HKAIFF by showing your membership cards at the ticket office at the Grand Cinema.
