Bombay Jayashri Ramnath, the fourth generation of music practitioners in the family, is a cultural ambassador of India's rich composite heritage. Trained in both the Carnatic and Hindustani styles, her technique pushes new directions in creativity, embellished by the gift of her melodic voice, creating a spiritual, mystical and a uniquely sublime experience for the listener. Her search for avenues beyond the Carnatic classical format has directed her in composing music that explores compositions in India's literary heritage and creative art forms, revealing new vistas of creativity. The repertoire of the evening will showcase her wide range of accomplishments from the Oscar-nominated work “Pi’s Lullaby” theme song of the blockbuster Life of Pi, to the mystical and the ancient. Her final presentation, as with most Indian classical performances will be tailored to the audience in the hall, taking shape as the program progresses.
