Richard Armstrong is Director of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation and its flagship Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York. He plays a pivotal role at the museum while also providing leadership and management for the four other institutions in the Guggenheim network: the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Venice, the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Spain, the Deutsche Guggenheim, Berlin and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Museum, scheduled to open 2013. Armstrong was previously Director of the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, having also served as chief curator and curator of contemporary art there. He has been curator at the Whitney Museum of American Art and at La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art, California.
Hans Ulrich Obrist is a contemporary art curator, critic and historian of art. He is currently Co-director of Exhibitions and Programmes and Director of International Projects at the Serpentine Gallery, London. He has also served as Curator of the Mus??e d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris. Obrist has curated more than 150 exhibitions internationally. He is the author of The Interview Project, an extensive ongoing project of conversations with the most talented artists, architects, scientists, engineers, and thinkers. Obrist was named by Art Review magazine in 2009 as the number one most influential person in the art world.
