A leading authority on Chinese consumer trends - especially for the luxury industry - Andrew Y. Wu, Greater China President LVMH Group, is one of the most influential industry professionals for retail brands and distribution development in the region. With his Mainland Chinese background, overseas experiences, and now decades of re-engagement back in the China market working for influential international brands, Mr. Wu will share his unique bicultural insights on the Chinese consumer, both for luxury and in general, and bring a helpful focus on how this country continues to fast evolve - much beyond and above narrowly-defined business interests.
Andrew Y. Wu is Greater China President for LVMH Group. Born and raised in Shanghai but having lived in Canada from 1980 to 1993, he returned to Mainland China in 1993 as head of Parfums Christian Dior China under LVMH Group, and pioneered its Chinese operations for the next seven years. In 2000, he joined Sony Music Entertainment International as Vice President for Asia to engage and promote the Chinese entertainment market, after which he re-joined LVMH as the Group head for China. In this role since 2005 and expanded to cover Greater China since 2011, Mr. Wu has overseen the rapidly growing and evolving businesses of 70-plus world-renowned brands under LVMH in the Chinese marketplace, while personally witnessing the extraordinary transformation of China’s consumers on the global scale that continues today.
